20余年数学研究及教学工作

 

Anton博士从事数学学习研究及数学教学至今已经超过20年的时间。他在乌克兰首都基辅的乌克兰国立技术大学获得应用数学学士和硕士学位后,于美国堪萨斯州立大学获得了纯数学专业的博士学位。

 

而后在上述高校和中国科学技术大学从事博士后工作,在此期间他一直从事在数学相关知识的研究,在他学术研究期间,他发表了5篇论文;在纯数学领域中,论文的生命周期很长,因此他的论文也获得了多方长期的引用。

教学是他的学术道路中

不可或缺的一部分

 

自学术生涯起Anton博士就开始接触教学的工作,第一次接触教学工作是他在乌克兰攻读硕士学位期间;在攻读博士期间,他在堪萨斯州,面向来自世界各国不同国籍的学生,教授美国本科课程。在那之后,他开始接触到了中国本土的学生,这段奇妙的经历也是他选择教授中国高中学生的契机。从那时起,Anton博士在中国一些最著名的国际化学校、国际部中教授中国学生 AP 和 A-Level数学相关课程。

 

Anton 博士反复强调"教学是他的学术道路中不可或缺的一部分。为了更好地进行教学工作,他还进行了通识教育心理学和高等教育教育心理学的研学,正因为如此,让他对自己的教学之路更加充满信心。

 

跨领域知识和经验,

不断提升教师胜任力

 

“教育心理学是一门实践性很强的学科,是许多国家基础教师培训的重要组成部分。例如,在这门学科中,我们首先需要了解的是一个人连续认知新信息的时间有多长,或者大部分人的信息的记忆系数是什么,这取决于我们在课堂上把重点信息放在屏幕/幻灯片/板上的具体位置,以及放置的时间等等。了解这些基础教育学心理学的知识,可以帮助教师准备更行之有效的课程大纲、教案,我相信遵从心理学教育学的规律,没有知识是教不会的。

 

正是因为我拥有跨领域的知识和经验,使我能更好地胜任教师的角色,并可以采用不同的教学方法,为学生设计最佳的教学方案

任何学生通过自身努力,

终将取得优秀的成果

 

“我不使用“牛娃”这个词来形容学生,因为这意味着只有被选中的人才能取得好的成果。这是不正确的,任何学生通过自身努力,最终都将会取得优秀的成果。

 

我相信在数学基础的学习中,努力更重要,是否能取得优秀的成果这完全取决于每个学生自己的努力。

 

我认为,帮助他们进入理想大学的最好方法是在他们选择的学科上,教授扎实的知识。然而,在大多数学校或大多数教科书中,单靠学生自学是不能实现的。这就是需要教师介入的部分,利用教师自身的能力,使学生的学习过程更完整,给与想要探索学习的学生更多帮助。

 

当我们的学生具备了扎实的基础和渊博的知识,他们都将会获得自己理想大学的青睐,并在高等教育阶段表现出色。“

勤奋是学习数学的秘诀

 

而谈论到关于数学的学习,Anton博士认为学习数学和学习其他课程的大体思路一致:勤奋的学生会在最难的课程中取得成功,而偷懒的学生会在最简单的课程中失败。这里想强调的是勤奋是学习数学的秘诀

 

“虽然我曾在全球各地工作,经历了很多文化差异,但是值得一提的是,‘勤奋是学习数学的秘诀’仍然是全球通行的。传说,当法老问欧几里得“如何更容易学习数学?”时,他的回答是“数学没有捷径。在过去的 2500 年里,一切都没有改变。这是许多学生需要重视的,只有勤奋才能取得成功。”

 

”目前,我负责教授中学数学课程,帮助学生们打下牢固的数学基础,训练他们的数学思维,提高他们的数学学习兴趣,为他们在接下来的美国和英国系统高中课程学习做好更充足的准备。

 

正如“world practice”所提到的高中预备阶段正是开始培养学生数学思维的时候。我们也在不断地提高学生学习数学的兴趣和自我探索能力,随着时间的推移,我相信目前我在学校中所尝试的多种探索改进将带来的收获。“

Dr. Anton (also known as Anton Lyubinin) studied and taught mathematics professionally for over 20 years now. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Applied Mathematics from the National Technical University of Ukraine in Kyiv. He then went to Kansas State University to pursue his Ph.D. degree in Pure Mathematics, and upon commencement held postdoctoral positions in the above mentioned university and in the University of Science and Technology of China (中国科学技术大学).

 

About his Papers:5 officially published,and 5 in the form of preprints.In pure mathematics the lifecycle of the papers is very long,but my paper in applied mathematics(inepidemiology)has many citations.

 

He started teaching extra-curricular classes during his studies for Master's degree back in Ukraine, and then he taught in Kansas all courses in American undergraduate curriculum to diverse student audiences. After that he had a chance to try teaching the same content to the school students in China. This amazing experience finally led him to switch completely to high school teaching. Since then Dr. Anton was lucky to teach AP and A-level courses in some of the most famous schools in China.

 

Teaching was an integral part of Anton's academic path. As a part of his degree requirements he studied general education psychology and education psychology of higher education.

 

About Education psychology:

 

"Education psychology (also called Pedagogics) is very applied subject, which is a main part of the basic teacher training in many countries. For example, one of the first things that we learnt was how long, in general, a person can percept new information continuously, or the coefficients of memorization of information, depending on its location on the screen/slide/board. It is the knowledge that helps you to prepare and deliver an effective lesson/syllabus/curriculum, and without knowledge of some things it is simply impossible."

 

He believes that it is his knowledge and experience with multiple curricula that make him an effective teacher who can employ different teaching methods and design an optimal program of study for his students.

 

"I don’t use the word “elite”towards students, because it imply that good results in the study are only for the chosen ones. Which is not true at all, any student who apply himself will eventually achieve excellent results. It is all a question of the effort they make.

 

The best way to help them to get into their dream university is to give them solid knowledge in the subject of their choice. Unfortunately, that is not achieved in most schools or with most textbooks, and this is the part where the teacher can step in to make the class more complete and give more benefit to the inquiring students. With solid and deep knowledge students will do well in all later stages of their quest for admission."

 

"When it comes to learning mathematics - there is only one culture. Study culture. A diligent student will succeed in the most difficult class and a lazy student will fail the easiest one. While every place where I worked has certain differences in culture, the above words always remained true. A legend says that, when a Pharaon asked Euclid "How to study mathematics easier?", his answer was "There is no royal road to mathematics". Nothing has changed in the last 2500 years. This is what many students need to realize to become successful."

 

"This year I am focusing on the foundation curriculum, to make sure that it prepares students well for their high school classes both in American and British system. As the world practice show, foundation is exactly the time to start developing mathematical thinking in students. Though we have a lot of work to do about students' motivation in NAIS, with time these improvements will bring their fruits."
