American Curriculum

Students at NAIS can choose courses based on curriculum requirements and their educational goals. Compulsory courses: English language, Chinese, Chinese history and Chinese geography.

Basic courses: Students can gradually complete 3 science, 3 math, and 3 social science courses within four years of high school according to their own learning progress and school credit requirements. Science courses include biology, chemistry, and physics; mathematics courses include algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, and calculus; social studies courses include American history, world history, and geography. Students are also required to complete one year of art courses such as music, drama or fine arts, and two years of physical education.

Elective courses: A wealth of elective courses include business, economics, film studies, sociology, anatomical biology, and information technology. College level courses are available to qualified students through AP and distance learning programs.
